Fear is something that all humans have, even if they don't want to admit it. Sometimes, even if they don't know they are afraid. This happens more often than not, constantly pushing humans to do the things they do even if the fear is working on a more subconscious level than conscious. It still exists, no matter how much you try to push it away or contain it, it still resides in every single human mind and heart.
Even some of the most perverse deeds have some type of justification behind them, if you only look far or deep enough into the psychology of it. From small acts to big ones, they can all be justified by the mind. Whether that justification is right or wrong isn't the discussion, for it is still a reason that causes a person to act. Jealousy, envy, hatred, pain, all similar feelings and emotions that can boil down to being afraid. Jealousy is created from being afraid that someone is going to take something from you. Envy is the fear of never having something or gaining something that someone else already has.
Many of the simple negative emotions humans have can be created from a small amount of fear, even if they do not realize it at the time. Sometimes this fear can get you in trouble, by forcing you to take the wrong action or make a wrong decision, but often, the consequences will come around and instill that fear in you once more. Fear is created from being afraid of what the consequence of something may be. "You don't have a fear of heights, you have a fear of falling from being up high."
Alas, sometimes the consequences are worse than you could imagine, or they are much less horrible than you thought they could be. That relief comes from the consequence not scaring you anymore. You all want to feel that when you are scared: the relief that comes from not having that fear anymore... That quiet comfort that soothes your hearts and souls. Finally being at peace, not being afraid anymore. Not having to be afraid anymore.
Soon, that peace will come. It always does.
